4th Grade Living Museum

Our 4th grade students were able to put on a Living Museum for parents, faculty, and guests last night. A Living Museum is a museum where students pretend to be statues of historical figures. When a guest comes up to the statue and presses their button the statue comes to life and begins to tell about their life. Every student did their own research on a historical figure and wrote their own informative paragraph.  We had over 52 students participate in this event and it was an AMAZING performance. You can click on the link below to see a short video of the night.

  1. I am so impressed! What wonderful idea to make a living museum. I’m sure my class would love to do something similar.

Did it take long for you to find out all the information?

Also, did you memorise it all or were you allowed to read it?

Keep up all the good work,

  2. Wow! We just watched this in our class. You had great expression in your voices when you performed. Everybody was brilliant, but we especially enjoyed watching the boy in black and white suit (his acting was mind-blowingly good).

How did you remember all of the information?

Could you please let us know who you were acting as? Unfortunately, we couldn’t hear the children’s voices well enough on the video.

    We really enjoyed watching,

  3. Thank you for the comment Mr. Smith. It took us a long time to find the information because we had to research our famous people by ourselves. Then we wrote a paragraph summarizing what we researched and tried to memorize it. Most of us did memorize our paragraphs but a few of used a “cheat sheet” and read it off during our living museum. Which picture was your favorite?

  4. We remembered all the information by rereading and practicing our paragraphs every day. Our other teacher, Mrs. McMorris kept pushing us to remember and practice practice practice! Our teacher said she would edit the video this weekend and add all the historical figures names to it. You can check back on Monday to see the new version.

  5. We liked your work and videos we wish we could do that too, we have been learning about Ancient Egypt.

  6. It sounds awesome!! We have got ipads at our school and are learning about the ancient Egpytians.

  7. Hey y’all, just to let you know, we loved you idea for a living statue musuem soo much we did it our selves, for our history assembly.
